16WAPT, the ABC affiliate in Jackson, MS is looking for an IT Specialist to join our station. You will help oversee the IT operations at our station and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The IT Specialist reports to the IT Manager and performs daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and provides user support.

Responsibilities

Support user needs across all departments, including News, Creative Services, Sales and AdministrationMaintain imaging machines, updating firmware and managing hardware inventoryAssist the IT Manager with systems upgrades and new platform deploymentsProvide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device supportMaintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware and softwareOccasional travel to news bureau, transmitter and translator locationsAnalyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedure

Requirements

Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture conceptsVMWare, Cisco or Microsoft certifications preferredPrior experience with a large user baseExperience in the television broadcast setting preferredExperience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiersEnterprise and web-based applicationsVPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN ManagementCommunications skills and customer-service attitudeKnowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systemsHigher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience will be considered
